Dr Francesca Pennington

Gender: Female
Primary qualifications: MBBS BSc (Hons) MRCGP

I graduated from St George's, University of London in 2010.

Following this I returned to the South Coast (where I grew up!) and did my junior doctor jobs at Worthing Hospital and the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton. After this I took a year out from training to take the opportunity to travel and work in a hospital in New Zealand. I then came back to Sussex to complete my GP training.

I did my final year of GP training at Maywood under the supervision of Dr Peter Spurrier. I was sad to leave Maywood when I fully qualified as a GP in 2016 but was fortunate enough to be able to return at the end of 2017 when they needed another salaried GP!

I enjoy the variety of work that GP offers but am particularly interested in Medical Education. I supervise final year medical students and junior doctors at present but hope to become a GP trainer in the future. Outside of work I enjoy tennis (watching and playing), Zumba, walking and seeing the odd musical when I can. However, at the moment I spend most of my 'free time' running around after my children!
